ReplyDeletei would of thought adding more icing sugar to your buttercream mix would firm it up more?
xx coops xx
Hi Sally wow you have been busy everything looks amazing how clever xx
ReplyDeleteCoops is correct add more icing sugar to firm the buttercream that's what I did here http://stackyslittlecreations.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/grandsons-christening-day.html
This is adorable! I'm sure all the invitees will be impressed with all the lovely details. My son is my cake baker. He took the Wilton classes when he was 12. Thanks for visiting my blog. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteSally, what wonderful party decorations you've created! Absolutely adorable. Your cup cakes look yumyum delicious! With regard to your question about buttercream frosting being firmer perhaps you could decrease the amount of milk you've used. Add the liquids little by little until you have achieved the right consistancy or firmness. Hope that helps.
ReplyDeleteCheers!

Hi Sally, oh wow these are just fab - such a lot of work too! You've obviously had a labour of love there.
ReplyDeleteI would agree with a few other comments as well, if you are adding milk to your mix reduce how much you are putting. Make sure your butter is very soft, but not runny and add the icing sugar 1/3 at a time until you have it at the right consistancy. I've got a foolproof recipe if you want it?
Sarah
